What is the Marriage Restoration Program?
The MRP is an innovative three-stage program
strategically designed to help your marriage
restore hope and build long-term connection.
It all starts with attending Hold Me Tight®...
This is a two-day marriage intensive more effective and efficient than anything you have experienced before. In fact, participants frequently tell us that Hold Me Tight® was far more helpful than any intensives or counseling they had done previously.
Hold Me Tight® takes the best of what neuroscience, attachment theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) have to offer and combines them into a powerful two-day encounter.
Our Hold Me Tight® intensive is facilitated by a husband and wife team, both marriage therapists and highly trained in EFT. Through a mixture of teaching, group processing, and breakout sessions, you will learn:
- How to grow and shape your connection
- The deeper dynamics sabotaging your marriage
- The keys to stopping your cycle and experiencing real repair
- How to create a bright and secure future for your marriage
You will be amazed at what can happen in two days...
Keep the ball rolling by enrolling in your online workshop...
From the comfort of your home, you and your spouse will work through a curriculum strategically developed to enhance and expand on what you learned during your intensive.
The workshop is a self-guided series of six teaching videos and matching worksheets that address common struggle areas and offer realistic action steps. Each lesson uses creative, engaging, and relatable content to help establish good habits and invite productive conversation.
During your online workshop, you will learn:
- The power of attunement and resonance
- Earlier recognition of when and how you get off track
- Specific steps to overcome your blocks
- How to better cherish each other
And to really make it stick, we finish with community groups...
Research shows that long-term relationship growth is far more likely in the context of a supportive community. In support of that fact (and because so many people asked us for this) we are proud to offer the Marriage Community Group as your final step in the MRP.
Once you and your spouse finish the online workshop, our staff will help you find which group best fits your needs. Each group follows the same basic structure: gathering monthly to enjoy good food, helpful lessons, and great discussion. Each group is also open-ended, meaning you are welcome to be a part of your group for as long as you wish.
We will provide you with the curriculum and all the needed information for attending your first meeting. Your volunteer group leader will show you the ropes and help you feel at home in your group. Our goal is that every couple gets the chance to support, and be supported, along the road toward connection.
Marriage Therapy
Outcome studies show that 90% of couples who do Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) experience meaningful improvement and roughly 73% achieve full recovery.¹
Being trapped in a broken marriage can feel like navigating a treacherous emotional landscape with no compass. EFT is the most consistently effective modality in existence in solving that problem. For the first time in history, we have an accurate, detailed, and effective road map that outlines exactly why marriages die and how to bring them back to life.
At West Michigan Marriage Center, all of our therapists are marriage specialists and have advanced training in EFT. If you are feeling lost without a compass in your marriage, we can help.
